Who says hard work can’t be fun!? Some Calvert Hip Mamas
helped harvest about 4,000 pounds of potatoes
for Farming 4 Hunger on a beautiful morning on August 31, 2013. We started the
day sorting through some potatoes that was to be delivered to local food
pantries then worked the fields! The kids got to watch a tractor dig up the
potatoes before we collected thousands of potatoes for needy families. After
working in the field, we went back to the harvest house to sort and package up
the potatoes we collected so they can be delivered to local food pantries. As a
reward for all our hard work, we got to visit the petting zoo for free!
